The sensor consisting of a capacitive transducer detects the water column height inside the measuring container. A built-in microprocessor-based electronic circuit converts the capacitance reading into a calibrated voltage output, ensuring precise and reliable measurements.
Receives water from the funnel that houses the capacitive transducer. The
calibrated volume ensures precise conversion of water level to precipitation in mm.
Once the water in the measuring tube reaches full capacity, a self-actuating siphon engages automatically.
Time for complete drainage cycle: ≤ 25 seconds.
After siphoning, the tube automatically resets to zero, allowing continuous measurement without manual intervention.
This low power demand makes the gauge suitable for solar-powered weather stations and unattended field installations.
Sensor is supplied along with 10 meters of cable. In case more cable is needed it can be extended without no loss in data.
No moving parts – eliminates mechanical wear and maintenance associated with tipping-bucket gauges.
High resolution and accuracy – ±0.28 mm precision over the full range.
Evaporation compensation – The sensor eliminates all the error of depletion of water caused by caused by evaporation.
Fast automatic reset – Once the container reaches to its maximum water level, The system goes into automatic siphon, emptying the container very quickly and ensuring uninterrupted operation.
Field-proven ruggedness – suitable for harsh outdoor environments and long-term data collection.
