Horizontal Wave Force Sensor (On Rigid Structures)

Pressure-based sensor designed to measure horizontal force applied to rigid structures by sensing dynamic hydrostatic pressure acting on a diaphragm.
The Horizontal Wave Force Sensor is designed for measuring horizontal force applied to rigid structures. The pressure-based sensor measures the dynamic hydrostatic pressure acting on a diaphragm, allowing both applied pressure and vacuum/reverse pressure to be measured. The sensor can be mounted on the walls of structures, with its output connected to a data logger for recording and analysis.

Overview

The Horizontal Wave Force Sensor is designed for measuring horizontal force
applied to rigid structures. The sensor uses a pressure-based sensing
principle to measure the dynamic hydrostatic pressure acting on a diaphragm.

The sensor can measure both applied pressure and vacuum/reverse pressure.
It can be easily mounted on the walls of structures, and its output can be
connected to a data logger for recording and analysis.

Key Features

  • Designed for horizontal force measurement on rigid structures
  • Dynamic hydrostatic pressure-based sensing
  • Measures pressure acting on a diaphragm
  • Measures both applied pressure and vacuum/reverse pressure
  • Can be mounted on structure walls
  • Output can be connected to a data logger
  • Stainless steel casing
  • 0 to 5 Volt output
  • Wide temperature operating range
  • High over-pressure capability

Measurement Principle

The sensor measures the dynamic hydrostatic pressure acting on a diaphragm.
The pressure applied to the diaphragm is converted into an electrical
output that can be recorded through a data logger.

Both applied pressure and vacuum/reverse pressure can be measured using
the sensor.

Applications

  • Horizontal force measurement on rigid structures
  • Wave force measurement
  • Dynamic hydrostatic pressure measurement
  • Rigid structure testing
  • Hydrodynamic model studies
  • Experimental structural measurements

Rigid Structure Measurement

The sensor is specifically designed for measuring horizontal force applied
to rigid structures. It can be mounted on the walls of the structure to
measure the dynamic pressure acting on the sensing diaphragm.

Pressure Measurement

The pressure-based sensing system measures dynamic hydrostatic pressure.
Both applied pressure and vacuum/reverse pressure can be measured, allowing
the sensor to capture pressure variations acting on the structure.

Data Acquisition

The output of the sensor can be connected to a data logger. This allows
the measured pressure and corresponding horizontal force information to
be recorded for further analysis.

Construction

The sensor has a stainless steel casing designed for the pressure
measurement application. Its diaphragm-based sensing arrangement allows
dynamic hydrostatic pressure acting on the rigid structure to be measured.

Installation

The sensor can be easily mounted on the walls of structures. Once installed,
the output can be connected to a data logger for recording the measured
pressure.

Output

The sensor provides a 0 to 5 Volt output that can be fed to a data logger
for recording and analysis of the measured pressure.

Monitor up to 32 sensor channels simultaneously, with real-time recording, graphical monitoring and wave-data analysis from a single system.
