The Wave Sensor (Capacitance Based) is designed for wave measurement applications
in hydrodynamic model studies. It is suitable for use in model tanks and wave
flumes, where wave characteristics need to be measured at different locations.
The sensor provides a fast response and is designed to cause minimum disturbance
to the water during measurements. It can be fixed vertically at different
locations to sense wave heights and wave periods along the direction of wave
propagation.
The sensor is designed to measure wave characteristics at different points
within model tanks and wave flumes. It can be used to sense wave height and
wave period throughout the direction of wave propagation.
The Wave Sensor is designed for underwater use and can be used in both fresh
and semi-saline water environments. The sensors are supplied with a standard
15-metre cable, with provision to extend the cable length up to 100 metres
without changing performance.
The sensor can be fixed vertically at different locations within a wave
flume or model tank. This arrangement allows wave characteristics to be
measured at multiple points along the direction of wave propagation.
The capacitance-based wave sensor can form part of a larger wave measurement
system. Additional sensors can also be incorporated into the system depending
on the requirements of the experimental setup.
